DORIS ANNA PARKINSON (TAYLOR)
Born: Apr 28, 1918
Date of Passing: Oct 07, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS ANNA PARKINSON (nee TAYLOR) April 28, 1918 - October 7, 2017 Through to her final days, Doris was an inspiration to family and friends. A quick smile, a knowing look and when asked, words of wisdom especially on the subject of flowers. At 99 years of age, Doris enjoyed reminiscing on her many life experiences ...growing up in Norwood with her younger sister Fran, marriage and family life with Les and Ann, their war-time house on the beach in Gimli, and the impact of the 1950 flood on their new home on Leila Avenue, to mention a few. Doris and Les shared many good times with Ann as work and life moved them from Winnipeg to Edmonton, Ancaster, Burlington and finally for Doris, back home to Winnipeg. One constant was Doris' appreciation for flowers and the joy she brought to so many people through her work as a florist. Her husband Les and their daughter Ann predeceased Doris. Her memory continues to be cherished by her sister Frances, niece Joan (Earl) and their family, nephew Jim (Lynn) and their family, her granddaughter Heather and great-grandson George, and friends including Jennifer. Doris appreciated the dedicated and caring staff of Golden Links Lodge and Doris' family extends a most sincere thank you to those staff, which became a valued, extended family for Doris. A private family service will be held. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Golden Links Lodge, 2280 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2N 3Z6.
