I met Cliff when he married my sister, Luella December 29, 1978. They stopped in for a visit to my home in Abbotsford, BC on their way to Fiji for their honeymoon. Cliff was a special person to everyone in our family. We all liked and admired him. He was always happy, upbeat and had a great sense of humour. We visited them in Osoyoos, BC when they wintered there for a few years. We always enjoyed our visits. We will miss Cliff very much. Dear Luella , I am very sorry to hear of Cliff's passing. He was such a wonderful man. I enjoyed vacationing in Cuba with you, Cliff and Mom, Chessie Todd a few years ago. Rest in Peace Cliff. You and Dad, Jim Todd are finally together again enjoying life. With sympathy, Karen Felske Victoria B.C. - Posted by: Karen Felske (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2017

In the winter of 1968-1969, Cliff and his crew moved several large laboratory trailers over 30 km of logging road to construct the facility that would house the Experimental Lakes project from then until the present. It was a snowy, cold winter and working conditions were trying, but Cliff always came through with good humor. Several times he helped reconstruct the ELA camp following fires and windstorms. Cliff contributed as much to the scientific output of the Freshwater Institute as any scientist..... they do not make better men. Cliff supervised the Freshwater Institute shop, which did a lot of difficult work for my group in the Arctic. Cliff and various crew constructed Saqvaqjuac, a 5,000 ft2 research facility on a remote Hudson Bay coast in 1977. Cheerful, competent, reliable, conscientous, and a good guy to boot. What more could I and my research scientists ask for? Buster Welch - Posted by: Buster Welch (Colleague) on: Oct 18, 2017

To the family of Cliff Jones: Cliff was a member of our research team that built and maintained remote research camps in W. Ontario, Hudson Bay, and otherwild locations 1968-1980s. All of us enjoyed & benefited from his skills, good humor, and work attitude. He was a good friend & colleague.
