Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR HANNAH RAY (BALD) 1920 - 2017 Eleanor Hannah Ray, born in Montreal to Ethel Bald (Horwitz) and Isadore Bald on September 27, 1920, died peacefully in her home in Mississauga on October 9, 2017. She was predeceased by sister Muriel Kolber (Montreal) and husbands Wallace Guberman (Winnipeg) - the father of her children, Sam Ray and Ben Shapiro (Montreal) and Lenny Levin (Philadelphia and Lakeworth). She was the beloved mother of Joanne Lecker of Mississauga, Dr. Alan Guberman (Denyse Charlebois) of Ottawa, and grandmother of Adam Lecker of Toronto, Dr. Daniel Guberman (Dr. Veronique Dorval) of Montreal and Dr. Liana Guberman (Eimhin Rooney) of Ottawa. She enjoyed pictures and visits from her great-granddaughters Chloe, Stella and Alice Guberman and great- grandsons Solomon and Emmanuel Rooney. She loved good Jewish cooking, best selling novels, Hollywood movies, decorating, gardening, travel, cars, golf in Florida, playing cards and especially dogs. After spending 27 years in Winnipeg as a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother, she returned to Montreal and made a new life for herself. She spent the last 12 years of her life in Mississauga cared for by her loving daughter Joanne. Mom, you were a sweet, gentle, reserved person with plenty of style and a great sense of fashion. You were endowed with practical wisdom and a ready sense of humour. You taught us to bear the curve balls that life throws at you with acceptance, resilience, optimism and dignity. You will be greatly missed. Heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers, especially Agnes Carbonelli, as well as at the Palliative Care Unit at The Trillium Mississauga Hospital (especially Dr. A. Gupta) and at the Dorothy Ley Hospice.
