Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBONNE CLAIR LEMON It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bonne Lemon announce his passing on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Left to cherish Bonne's memory are his sister Carol; sister-in-law Grace; two great-grandchildren, (Lochlan, Chantelle); daughter Laurie and Dennis Tarr (Jordan, Chelsey, Ainsley); son Doug and Sheila Lemon (Brehanna, Tess); daughter Robyn Lemon (Dylan, Ellen). He was predeceased by his wife Beryl in April of this year. Dad was the youngest of 12 children born on July 31, 1931 on a small farm near Mair, Saskatchewan. He moved with his family to Moosomin where he attended high school. It was then when he began working as a reporter, pressman and typesetter for the local weekly newspaper, a job he took full time after graduating in 1948. In 1951, dad moved to Winnipeg and began his accounting career. A few years later, he met mom Beryl Minaker at the Normandy Dance Hall. They married in 1955 and in 1956 welcomed their first daughter Laurie. Also in 1956, dad obtained his CA designation and in the process, scored the fourth highest UFE marks in Manitoba that year. In 1958, their second child Doug was born followed by Robyn in 1968. Dad retired as partner of Deloitte & Touche in 1988. He was a former member of the Council of Institute for Chartered Accountants of Manitoba; past treasure of Border and Crestview Community Clubs; past treasure of Crestview United Church; past treasure of the Manitoba Heart Foundation and a past chairman of the Professional Sector of Winnipeg United Way campaign. He was a member of the Red River Lodge, Scottish Rite and a life member of Khartum Temple directors staff. He was treasurer of Khartum Temple from 1987 to 2000 and the Royal Order of Jester from 1985 to 1987. Dad loved the outdoors, especially if it involved camping or fishing trips with family and friends. Our parents loved to travel and made many trips to visit family in the US. Other favourite destinations were Europe and Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation or Muscular Dystrophy Canada. There will be a private family memorial service. Dear Robyn and family, Your dad was such a kind man. I have fond memories of riding in the back of his big fancy, plush car. I think it was green-blue. We would do gymnastics while he drove us places, like the circus. My sincere condolences. Rest in peace Mr. Lemon - Posted by: Lynn (Lauritsen) Lauf (Neighbor in the 1980's) on: Oct 31, 2017
