GEORGE JANZEN On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, George Janzen passed away peacefully, at Riverview Health Centre, at 90 years of age. George was born in Coatsworth, Essex County, Ontario; the fourth of seven children of Reverend Jacob and Liese Janzen. George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elsie (Tiessen), children Sandi Enns (John), Shirley Banman (Ron), Brian (Jo-Anne) and Randy (Mary Ann), grandchildren Tamika, Jared (Tonya), Kiera, Benjamin (Samantha), Riel, Judith, Sol and Dunavan, brother Henry (Irma), sister Betty (Herman), and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. George was predeceased by his son Harold, brothers Jacob, David and John, and sister Mary. A celebration of George's life will be held at Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay Street, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Interment will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach. The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative Care Units at St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre. If friends so desire donations can be made to MCC or CancerCare Manitoba. Birchwood Funeral Home, Steinbach, is in charge of arrangements.
