Date of Passing: Oct 18, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID TIMOTHY URSHAN David Timothy Urshan was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017 at the age of 91. A longtime resident of Willow Glen, David was a loving husband to his wife of 55 years, Lorraine. Born in Jerusalem to Anna and Timothy Urshan, he was one of seven children, arriving in the U.S. when he was 18 years old. David and Lorraine met and married in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, then moved to San Jose, California in 1963 where David began a successful career in real estate that spanned over 50 years -- running his own business until he retired at age 87. An avid tennis player, David enjoyed playing at the Saratoga Tennis Club twice a week for many years, and loved watching professional matches. He took great pleasure in visiting Lake Tahoe with his family every summer, where he enjoyed spending time on the beach with his children and later his grandchildren. David was a loving father to his daughters Lori-Ann (Jeff) Tarter and Cathy (Matt) Ramona, a devoted grandfather to Ryan Tarter, Sarah Tarter and Madison Ramona, and cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his dear sister Mary Bennick. David had an endearing sense of humour, compassion for others, and expressed a deep love for his family all throughout his life. We will miss him more than words can say. If you would like to make a donation in David's name may we suggest Stanford Cancer Research at makeagift.stanford.edu, or a charity of your choice.

To the Urshan family, My parents were friends with David Urshan back in Winnipeg in the late 40’s and early 50’s at Bethel Tabernacle Church in Winnipeg. I know many Urshan family members around the USA, particularly his brother Jonathan, and sister Lydia. My parents spoke so well of David. Our prayers are with you folks.
