TED TOM (TT) DUPLEY Ted Dupley passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Riverview Health Centre with his family by his side at the age of 87 years. Left to lovingly remember Ted are his wife of 59 years of marriage, Jean; sons Brad and Derek (Kirsten); daughter Debbie (Jim); grandchildren Chelsea (Eric), Katelyn, Justin and Jaclyn (Brenden) and great-grandson Madden. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Anne Dupley. Ted grew up along the Hudson Bay Railway in northern Manitoba and would sometimes refer to himself as a "Son of the North". He went to boarding school in Teulon and was involved with the Teulon Collegiate Alumni Annual Luncheon. Ted went to the University of Manitoba where he got his Commerce degree. His main career until retirement was with the Provincial Government in the Department of Industry & Commerce, prior to that he worked in the investment industry and even taught school for a year. Ted loved the outdoors and enjoyed the annual summer family camping trips when the kids were growing up. A favourite spot was Clear Lake where he had met his wife Jean in 1955. The family later had a cabin there for many years. Ted's favourite spot of all time was his son Derek's cottage at Booster Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park. He loved spending time there with family and fishing! Ted also loved sports, he was an avid Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers fan but found it hard at times to "Keep the Faith" as he would put it. He enjoyed golfing and the many winters they spent in Palm Springs after retirement. Ted also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and researching projects. Ted had a great life and will be missed dearly. A private service has been held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Ted's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7 or charity of your choice.
