MARILYN MAUREEN HIEBERT (nee BLATZ) August 21, 1942 - October 24 ,2017 Maureen Hiebert, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 24 at St. Boniface Hospital. Maureen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Peter Hiebert, sons Al (Darlene), Jerry (Gwen), Bob (Karen), and daughter Cheryl. She had eight grandchildren, as well as nine great-grandchildren and counting. Eldest sister to Judy (Howard), Randy-deceased (Marlyne), Sharon (Bob), Kathy (Roy-deceased), John (Cheryl), Lori (Wilf), and Craig (Donelda). Maureen was born August 21, 1942 in Rosefarm, Manitoba to Daniel and Edna Blatz. Maureen was a L.P.N. at Central Park Lodge most of her working career. She had a vast array of interests including sewing, gardening, singing, church group, travel and of course the family paparazzi. A devoted grandmother Maureen ensured all her grandchildren had their own special blanket made "with love" by grandma. She lit up a room with her warm, welcoming smile and was loved by all. A special thank you to the staff in I.C.U at St. Boniface Hospital. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Rd., Winnipeg. Funeral services on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at same location as the visitation (Morrow Gospel Church).

  • I want to pass along my sincere sympathy to Uncle Pete and to Cheryl, Bob, Al and Jerry. Aunt Maureen was a beautiful soul - one who had a beautiful smile, who truly was interested in those around her and cared deeply for her husband, family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
