LLOYD JOHN BIALEK October 28, 1945 - October 26, 2017 Peacefully on October 26, 2017, after an eight year battle with bladder cancer, Lloyd passed away at the Beausejour Hospital, two days before his 72nd birthday. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Jane of 50+ years, sons Les (Jo-Ann), Leo (Michelle) and daughter Lydia Campbell (Dave), granddaughters Jennifer Bialek and Courtney Campbell, grandson Johnny Bialek Chartrand (Johnny's mom Michelle) and great-granddaughter Sadie Percher. He is also survived by sisters Wilma Klann, Sharon Want and brother Ken (Diane), as well as many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie Bialek and brothers-in-law Fred Want and Rudy Klann. Lloyd was born October 28, 1945. He grew up on the family farm in Anola, MB. In 1966 he married the love of his life, Jane (Olszewski) and together they had three children. Through the years Lloyd spent a lot of time with heavy equipment and when the need arised had the knack to invent any tool or gadget that he required to get the job done. He served as councillor of Ward 4, in Springfield Municipality from 1977 to 1992. With his interest in politics he was always ready to take on a challenge. In 1987, Lloyd started his own business, Lloyd's Backhoe Service and operated it until 2005 when he retired and he and Jane moved to Lac du Bonnet. Having failed retirement, he worked a few years in the R.M. of Whitemouth and for the Highways Department in Lac du Bonnet. Through the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, restoring John Deere tractors and had a fond appreciation of nature. He also loved to share his musical talent with others. He entertained many family, friends and strangers with violin, accordian, guitar and singing. He was proud to pass on this talent to his children and grandchildren. Lloyd was a man of deep faith. A very simple, honest, independent and proud man. A man of principle. Always willing to lend a helping hand. The family would like to thank Dr. Maharajh, Dr. Partyka, Dr. Hastir, the palliative care specialists Melanie and Susan, the nursing staff at Beausejour Hospital and the many family and friends for their care and support. As per Lloyd's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life/Music Jam (bring instruments) will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Legion #164, in Lac du Bonnet at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd's memory to Cancer Care or Siloam Mission. When tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

  • Condolences to Jane and family... - Posted by: Alfred C Chorney (Jane's óld school teacher) on: Nov 02, 2017

  • Our deepest condolences to the Bialek family, Lloyd will be greatly missed. Even though he moved away from the Anola area a few years ago, we still felt his presence in the community. He was very well liked by all, and quite a few people used his business services. Quite a few times he came to our rescue dealing with septic problems, well pumps, etc......and he always had a good humor and at least one joke to tell while he was here. We all knew he a person that could be relied on, no matter what. He was always there for you, or at least would help you figure things out. I am very honored to say that I knew Lloyd and had the pleasure of dealing with him. - Posted by: Darrell Barton (Friend/neighbor) on: Oct 29, 2017

  • We have lost a good man. I have known Lloyd for many years, and he was a dedicated, honest, and gentle person. He was well known in the Springfield area as a Councillor, and as a business person, always dependable. I had many dealings with Lloyd, with numerous enlightening conversations as well. My sincere condolences to his family, and may Lloyd rest in peace. Grateful to have known this gentleman during his life. Gord Barton, Anola - Posted by: Gordon M. Barton (friend) on: Oct 28, 2017
