DAWN DEBORAH REGIEC (nee MARGESON) It is with great sadness that the family of Dawn Deborah Regiec, announces her sudden passing, on Saturday, October 28, 2017, peacefully in her home, at the age of 70 years. Dawn will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of almost 49 years, Mitchell, and her children, Tara (Mark) and Zachary (Carmen). Dawn will be greatly missed by her brothers, Larry Margeson (Judy), Lloyd Margeson (Tracy) and Robert Margeson (Tanis) and by the joys of her life, her four granddaughters, Kaitlin, Emily, Madison and Hannah. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, Andrea (Doug), Shauna (Kelly), Tammy (Wain), Lisa (Dan), Meagan (Curtis), Colleen (Lyle), Heather (Dave) and Emma; her nephews, Stephen (Lauren), Danny (Tara) and Hugh. Many memories will be cherished by her great-nieces, Gracie, Emma, Evie, Alexis, Kiara and Presley; great-nephews, Brennan (Brittany), Taylor, Jeremy, Jayden, Dawson, Thomas, Owen, Stephen, Maddox and Griffin; and her great-great-nephew, Easton. She will be missed by many dear friends. Dawn was predeceased by her sister Daphne Dae Konshuk and parents, Lloyd Mansfield Margeson and Evelyn Margeson (nee Roberts), all of whom she loved dearly. Dawn was proud to be from Kentville, Nova Scotia and had many fond memories of her childhood there. Her family moved to Winnipeg in 1964, when her father was transferred with Canadian Pacific Hotels. She attended St. John's High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Mitch, graduating in 1967. Together, Mitch and Dawn moved out west living in Banff, Lake Louise, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Claresholme. They returned to Winnipeg in 1977 to be closer to family, which was so very important to Dawn. She loved and cherished her family and they loved and cherished her. Dawn was an outgoing person who enjoyed her employment at The Hudson's Bay Company and Eaton's. Mitch and Dawn moved to Nelson, BC, in 1997 and spent the next 15 years there. She looked forward to visits with family, especially annual summer visits with her granddaughters, Kaitlin and Emily. Dawn and Mitch returned to Winnipeg in 2012. Dawn was well known for her sassy attitude, generosity, flair for fashion, and authenticity. She enjoyed shopping, travelling, reading, watching sports, especially tennis, and dancing. At a young age Dawn was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. In her later years, she was hospitalized numerous times due to complications of this disease. The family would like to thank Dr. A. Rizk, Dr. V. Woo, Michelle Crisp, and the staff at VGH 4 North, for all the care and attention they gave to Dawn. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at Green Gates, 6945 Roblin Boulevard with Rev. Theresa Moysey officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
