NOREEN VINET (nee McINTOSH) 1937 - 2017 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Noreen Vinet. At the age of 80, Noreen died suddenly on October 25, 2017, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with her family by her side. Noreen will be greatly missed by her husband Bert, of 60 years of marriage, her sons Paul (Lorraine) and Brian, her grandchild Terra Lowes (Brad), and by her great-grandchildren Lia, Emily and Brett Lowes. Noreen was predeceased by her daughter Deborah (Debbie), her parents Morris and Myrtle McIntosh, and her brothers Doug and Kenny. Noreen was born on April 21, 1937 in the small community of Elkhorn, Manitoba, where she spent most of her childhood years. Early in their marriage, Noreen and Bert left Manitoba and moved west. It was in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where Noreen and Bert started their family of three children. In 1963, the family moved to Edmonton and returned to Winnipeg in 1968. In 1972, Bert and Noreen, and family purchased West Hawk Motel and operated it for 11 seasons. Noreen enjoyed curling with friends and loved spending the summer months in this scenic area. In 1983, Noreen and Bert moved to Falcon Lake, where Noreen worked at the Falcon Lake Golf Course Restaurant. It is here where Noreen and Bert eventually spent their years of retirement together. But, when the month of October rolled around, Noreen and Bert would pack up their trailer and set off to enjoy the warm weather of Mazatlan until the month of April. Noreen relished spending afternoons on the beach, reading a book or doing crosswords. And at times, Noreen could be found sipping her beer of choice, Pacifico. During the evening hours, be it at home or in Mazatlan, Noreen enjoyed spending time with family and friends sitting around a bonfire. Out of respect for Noreen's wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. On behalf of Noreen and the Vinet family, a big "thank you" goes out to all the caring staff at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre.
