MARCIA ELLEN SECTER January 23, 1944 - October 30, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we share with you the passing of Marcia Ellen Secter. Loving wife of 53 years to Lloyd, sister to Roberta (Phil), daughter to Jack and Anne Moscovitch, mother to Rena (Daniel), Seri (David), Dov (Sarah), and grandmother to Ilana, Julia, Klara, Hannah, Maya, Sadie and Molly. Grace, intelligence and wisdom, are but a few words that define her character and life. Marcia's unapologetic honesty and meditated advice were ways of expressing her profound love and caring. She was a talented architect and designer; defiant and courageous. The only woman in the Faculty of Architecture in her year where she famously met and fell in love with Lloyd, and graduated with the R.A.I.C. gold medal for the highest scholastic achievement over five years. Marcia was loving and giving. Her relationship with Lloyd was a testimony of deep and everlasting love. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, and her ability to make the people around her feel special. Marcia led a life full of love, joy and happiness. She was so much to so many in so many ways. She will be missed by all who were graced by her presence and smile. The family would like to thank the care team who contributed to bringing comfort to Marcy and the family over the past months. Donations can be made towards a bench in honour of Marcy in Assiniboine Park, where she enjoyed taking her morning walks, by calling 204-927-8080.

  • Dear Lloyd, I remember Marcy with affection. When we were growing up together on Enniskillen Avenue in the 1950's, she was always one of the smartest girls in the class, so her future success was no surprise. I so enjoyed reconnecting with her after many years in China and the time we spent together on the Yangtze cruise. I appreciated how she stayed in touch after that and how we were able to get to know each other again as adults and enjoy our relationship anew. I am so sorry she has left us too soon. My thoughts are with you and your family, and I am sorry distance prevents me from expressing these in person. May your wonderful memories of her sustain you during this difficult time. • Lloyd and family: I am so sorry to hear of Marcy's illness and death. My memories extend from childhood neighbors to her kindness to my parents over the years. My sincere condolences. Judy - Posted by: Judy (Matchan) Weidman (old friend/neighbor on Enniskillen) on: Nov 04, 2017
