Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHORST LOTTIS May 31, 1947 - October 30, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Horst Lottis. Horst passed away peacefully on the morning of October 30, 2017, from his final battle with Leukemia, at the age of 70. Horst was born in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1953. He took residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba with many years spent in Warren, Manitoba where he raised his family. Horst was a hard worker and gifted, award-winning salesman for Snap-On Tools, Dynamic Machine, Lawson's, and Sears Canada to name a few. He was a gear-head at heart and spent many hours working on his cars. Most recently he loved to work on his 2003 Chevy Corvette convertible. Horst also spent time breeding and showing prize-winning Arabian horses in the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, he took up gardening and was exceptionally proud of his Passionflower vine and Angel's Trumpet shrub. Horst will be remembered for his skill to fix absolutely anything and everything, his ability to make friends wherever he went, and his wonderful, warm smile. Horst is survived by his children Kevin Lottis (Calgary) and Jovan Lottis (Calgary), his partner Kathy Stein (Keswick, ON), his mother Amanda Lottis (Winnipeg), and sisters Herta Ursel (Abbotsford, BC), Edie Schroeder (Vancouver), Elfreide Weiss (Winnipeg), Marita Pope (St. Laurent, MB), and his many, many friends. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to the nurses and staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre and the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre in Newmarket, ON. It was Horst's wishes that a funeral service not be held. Instead, we ask that you have a beer, raise a glass and cheers to his memory.
