JOAN GLOWACKI (GUSNOSKI)
Born: Nov 19, 1929
Date of Passing: Oct 27, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN GLOWACKI (nee GUSNOSKI) Peacefully on a sunny afternoon, surrounded by her children and caregivers, Joanie passed away on October 27, 2017. She was predeceased by husband Benny (1929 to 1965), parents Anne and Walter, and her sister-in-law Isabel Praznik. Joan leaves behind her children Donna-May and Wayne (Candace), her granddaughter Laura (Graeme), and her extended family Laurie, Peter, Hayley and Allison. Born on November 19, 1929 in Selkirk, MB, Joan grew up in a loving home on the family farm in Narol, MB. She shared many fond memories of cooking in her mom's summer kitchen, selling vegetables at the Farmers' Market on Main Street with her dad and riding to Donald School on frosty winter days in a horse-drawn sleigh. Joan appreciated life's simple pleasures such as going on shopping trips, visiting with family (these often included many hearty laughs) and cheering on the Bombers and the Jets. She was an avid gardener and in later years enjoyed strolling through the English Garden. All through her life, she practiced a quiet, unconditional kindness. Joan's sweet nature, patience and loving support will be deeply missed. We would like to send a special thank you to the excellent staff at Riverside Lions Supportive Housing and Meadowood Manor who provided superb care right up until Joan's final goodbye. A private memorial has already taken place. For those of you who wish to honour Joan's memory, consider performing an act of unconditional kindness.

Dear Donna-May, Wayne and family, We were very sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother, Joan. She truly was a fine and lovely person, most welcoming, pleasant and easy to talk to. It is so terribly sad to lose a parent, but good memories eventually take their place. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We wish you all healing and comfort at this difficult time. God Bless you! Sincerely, Gail & Naveen - Posted by: Gail Clements () on: Nov 21, 2017

My condolences, thoughts and prayers are with you Wayne and Donna. Whenever I remember your mother it is always with a smile. The times spent around the firepit in Narol when Joan was present were full of amusing and entertaining stories. She exemplified what a kind and wonderful person should be like. In my Mother's words Joanie was a very perky Lady and will be missed. Neil Shaw - Posted by: Neil Shaw (Friend of family) on: Nov 21, 2017

I just want to share the comment that my mother, Anne Dutka (nee Kulyk) grew up as a neighbor of Joan's in Narol, Manitoba. Mom's mother was Dora Kulyk. Mom used to speak many times of her memories of Joan (referred to as Joanie) and how much she enjoyed and appreciated knowing this very fine person. Although I've never met Joan or her family, I feel as though I've known her for many, many years. My mom currently lives at Red River place in Selkirk. Our sincere condolences to Joan's family and friends. - Posted by: Marlene Van Helden (community person) on: Nov 14, 2017
