Born: Jul 02, 1924
Date of Passing: Oct 27, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA CATHERINE WADMAN (nee GEORGE) July 2, 1924 - October 27, 2017 It is with great sorrow that the family of Vera Catherine Wadman announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, at the grand age of 93 years. In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, Victor, she leaves to mourn two children, Charles (Lorena), of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Valerie (Mitchell), of Keewatin, Ontario and her pride and joy, her four grandchildren, Alexis (Jon), of Winnipeg, Sarah, of Saskatoon, Nathan, of Medicine Hat and Alyssa, of Calgary. Cremation has taken place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home and a graveside service will take place in early summer of 2018 at the Kenora Cemetery. Vera grew up in Bowsman, Manitoba with parents, Ruth and Ralph, and sister Beatrice. The family moved to Dauphin, Manitoba in 1940, where she continued with her high school and secretarial courses. Vera married the love of her life, Victor John Wadman, in 1951. The couple lived in Dauphin and Regina, where they raised their two children, Charles and Valerie. Vera, Victor and family spent many happy days at their summer cottage on the Winnipeg River. Vera loved to paddle a canoe around Middle Lake and Darlington Bay, scaring up a beaver or mink. Vera was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She took much pleasure in caring for all creatures (human and animal) and a visit with her always made one feel truly at home. "Gran" as she was known to her grandchildren, was a splendid homemaker and cook, and her grandchildren always made sure that the mince pies and meat pies were devoured before they went home. The family would like to thank the excellent doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital for their care of our beloved Vera. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. "I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - Ettiene De Grellet

I clearly remember both Vera and husband Vic back in their Regina days when I was attending high school (I am now 74). The entire family were the absolute best of people. Sorry to have just now (2021) learned of their deaths. - Posted by: Hugh Parsons (Friend and neighbor ) on: Mar 20, 2021
