STANLEY JAWORSKI June 21, 1933 - October 29, 2017 A life well lived. A man well loved. Stan Jaworski, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 29, 2017 at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He was born on June 21, 1933 into loving but humble beginnings on McDonald Street in Brandon, MB. From riding the rails at 16, joining the Korean War as a tank gunner at 17 and then spending 25 years in increasingly senior positions with the RCMP, Stan's life was one of service and adventure. With his wife Rose and children in tow, Stan was stationed across Canada, from Duncan, BC to Harbour Grace, NL. Highlights of Stan's career included serving as Driver Training Instructor at the RCMP Depot Division in Regina for three years and prior to his retirement from the force in 1980, SWAT team member and section NCO in F Division, Saskatchewan. Once retired, Stan and Rose ran an oceanfront resort on Pender Island in BC but returned to Regina to be nearer family in 1982. Continuing his expertise in the field of driver training, Stan started Transafe Consulting, a commercial driver training and safety firm that was contracted by SaskTel and other major trucking companies. After selling the company in the mid-1990s, Stan and Rose decided to move to Sandy Lake, MB, where the fishing was good and the family gatherings were even better. Winter was not Stan's favourite season so he and Rose spent many years as snowbirds, living in Siesta Village, Weslaco, Texas. Stan was President of the Men's Club there and ran many fundraising events to build their community. Over his lifetime, Stan was an active volunteer. He was a member of the Kinsmen and Lions. Over the years, he made personal contributions in time and labour to the building of several Kinsmen parks and the Lions Campground in Sandy Lake, MB. Stan loved gardening, was a great cook and read every word of the newspaper, every day. Perhaps though, his favourite pastime, after spending time with family and friends, was travel. Stan loved nothing more than the trips across Canada and up and down the continent. Whether towing a trailer or driving caravan style with his brother to Texas, Stan was happy at the wheel, with his wife of 62 years, Rose, at his side. Now Stan is starting his next and hopefully best adventure. He has joined his brothers, Ken and Charlie, and his many other friends and family, in a better place where the pain and worries of old age are gone and there is peace and joy. It is this thought that sustains Stan's remaining sisters and brothers, Cecile, Charlotte, Jean, Joe and Walter and their spouses, children and many grandchildren. In addition to being survived by Rose, Stan's children, Barbara Isman, Catherine Jaworski and Bob Jaworski and his wife Lynn, and respectively their six children, Adam and Jessica, Kate and Jane and Jennifer and Rankin, Stan lived to see a generation of great-grandchildren, Hailey, Maycee, Aiden, Luke and Mikayla begin their own lives of love and adventure. A Celebration of Life will be held at the RCMP Depot Division Chapel in Regina next summer. At that time, Stan will be interred with full honours at the RCMP cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada, PHA Canada, Suite 917-759 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1H8 or online at giving@phacanada.ca

  • Donna & I were very sorry to hear about Stan's passing and offer our deepest condolences to you Rose and your family. I believe the last time we saw the two of you was your last year in Sandy Lake. When Stan (Stash) was under contract to us at SaskTel. I looked forward to all of our road trips from driver training, skid schools and truck rodeos and enjoyed all of his stories from his days as a recruit to the end of his career with the RCMP. I still get asked from time to time by our older SaskTel employees about Stan and how he was a positive influence on them. We hope to see you this summer when you come to Regina, take care Rose, Dennis & Donna Harrison - Posted by: Dennis & Donna Harrison (Friends) on: Nov 10, 2017
