HELEN FILEWICH 1924 - 2017 Helen passed on November 5, 2017, after a brief illness at St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Charles Filewich (2008); her parents Alex and Annie Shwaykowski; sisters Mary Yakubowski, Tillie Gulenchin, Jennie Hawryluk; and brother Peter Shwaykoski. Surviving to mourn her loss are her children Carol Filewich, Marcia (Greg) Bialobzyski, Allan Filewich and Lori (Dave) Robinson; as well as six grandchildren, Alexis (Darcy) Bialobzyski, Andrew (Sheila) Bialobzyski, Allison (Chan) Rin; great-grandchild Kiri Rin, Callan (Mandy) Filewich, Cayla (Cody) Filewich, Carlin Filewich; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Helen was born and lived most of her life in Roblin, Manitoba, until November 2009 when she moved to Winnipeg, living at the Revera Portsmouth since 2015. Donations in Helen's memory can be made to Siloam Mission or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Many thanks to all the E5 nurses and doctors for her wonderful care and to the Revera Portsmouth for making her time there so enjoyable. In accordance to Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. An interment and a reception in her memory will be held at a later date.
