I looked for purpose and passion in my work and was proud to make a contribution to the development of communities in order to create jobs, build human capacity and infrastructure. I grew up in Westwood and St. Vital, and lived in East Selkirk, Thompson, Kenora and Birds Hill. I enjoyed fishing and hunting with my family and my friend Patrick. Sharing the deer hunting camp always held a special place in my heart. I valued my education and graduated from the U. of W. (BA in Environmental Studies), the U. of M. I just found out of Dale's passing and I extend my condolences to his family. I was expecting to see him at the Winnipeg Folk Festival this summer (2018). I am thinking back to the days we worked together in the Federal Government, especially his concoction of beans and hamburger for supper when we traveled to Cross Lake, Manitoba. Many happy memories, he was a good friend. McLeod Fiddler - Posted by: McLeod Fiddler (Friend and past co-worker) on: Dec 05, 2017

I was very sorry to hear of Dale's passing. He had an enthusiasm for life that was infectious. He was gentle, kind and idealistic in the best sense of that word. He sought to make a positive difference and succeeded on his own terms - a life well lived. My heart goes out to his family and friends. - Posted by: Ian Gillies (Fellow student at NRI) on: Nov 20, 2017
