Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE (MARY) KAMENZ On Sunday, November 12, 2017, God added another angel to His team. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed peacefully, and in no pain, from her long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Kamin, Poland on August 31, 1930. She came to Canada in 1953 with her husband Eduard and settled in Winnipeg, MB. She worked for several years as a cleaner at Grace Hospital, and later found her niche working as a housekeeper for several clients including the Friesen family, with whom she worked for over 50 years. Mary was fond of church and was a proud member of the congregation at Albright Church. She was passionate about cooking, gardening, and especially baking. She was a soft spoken individual with a generous heart and always put others before herself. Some of her happiest moments were the times she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother Teofilo, father Wilhelm, husband, and brothers-in-law Hugo, Werner and Vern. She is survived by her children Klaus, Denny (Sheryl) and Kent (Janine), her grandchildren Kristopher (Nicole), April (Steven), Brent, Breanne (Kevin), Justin, Brandon, and two great-grandchildren Dominic and Tristan. She also leaves behind her brothers Victor, Leo (Ilse) and Robert (Renate), sisters Erna and Imgard, brothers-in-law Otto (Edith), Kurt (Ria), Erwin (Donna), and sisters-in-law Tabea, Elly, Erika and Hildegard (Manfred), along with many nieces, nephews, her best friend Josephine (Fini), and numerous friends she had made throughout her life. A memorial service will be held for Mary on Monday, November 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Albright Church, 3400 DeVries Avenue in Winnipeg. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary can be made to Riverview Health Centre or the Grace Hospice. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Riverview Health Centre, and Grace Hospice. A special thank-you to Elly Reit for the personal care she provided to Mary throughout her illness.
