WILLIAM (BILL) ARNOLD LEKEI Peacefully, with his family at his side, it is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Bill, beloved husband of Shirley, on November 10, 2017 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his parents Adam and Ida, his daughter-in-law Dale, his brother Aaron, brother Douglas and sister-in-law Sherry, and brother-in-law Rudy Vogel. Bill was born in Searth, Saskatchewan, his family moved to Roblin, Manitoba for a short time prior to settling on the family orchard in Garnet Valley near Summerland, BC in 1943. He ventured to Winnipeg in 1953 where he met and married the love of his life. He spent his early years working as a mechanic at Matthon Motors, and later on he worked as an authorized dealer for Snap On Tools for 18 years. Dad and his family enjoyed many summers at Victoria Beach, as well as fishing and camping and in his later years curling. Dad also enjoyed the many trips him and Mom made travelling across Canada, USA and overseas. Dad was a hard working man, but enjoyed a simple life with Mom and his family. Bill was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, children Dwain, Heather (Mark) and Kim (Gilbert); and his grandchildren, Stephen, Clayton (Candace), Geoffrey, Kristina, David and Jason. Dad also leaves behind his brothers Edwin (Alma), Dick (Irene), and sister Alma, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation.
