ISABEL JANET JENSEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Isabel Janet Jensen on November 11, 2017 at the age of 82. Isabel (Liz) was born on November 23, 1934 to Robert and Isabel Sinclair in North Battleford, SK. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Patti (Sheila) and Heather (David); her son Douglas (Pat); and her loving grandchildren, Derrick, Tristyn, Brett, Alison Katiy (Mark), Tyler, and Christopher; her two sisters, Cathy Dryhorub of Battleford, SK, Jean (Cliff) Moore of rural North Battleford, SK; her brother Jim (Gail) Sinclair of Red Deer, AB, and her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Isabel; brother Robert and her brother-in-law Ronald. Isabel earned a diploma in Psychiatric/Registered Nursing at the Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford in 1957 and worked there for a period of time. Her true ambition was to be a flight attendant and successfully did so for Air Canada for a number of years. Isabel later attended the University of Winnipeg where she proudly earned a Sociology Degree. Having many passions in her life, she was fortunate to be able to pursue her love of travel and visited many destinations in her life. She loved the arts and enjoyed numerous symphonies, jazz concerts and art exhibits with family and friends. Even so, her true devotion was to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet attending many performances and was an active member of the Women's Committee of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Isabel also had a fascination for astronomy. She spent many hours reading and discussing astronomy and loved the beauty of the night sky. Anyone who knew her knew she had a flair for fashion and design and took great delight in creating her own style. She was beautiful inside and out. Isabel will always be remembered as both elegant and disciplined in every aspect of her life. She taught us the importance of joy in a life well lived. She was warm hearted and fun-loving, and will be dearly missed by those who knew her best. We will always hold her memory in our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff on 3E at the Concordia Hospital for the tender loving care they provided to her while in the hospital. In keeping with the wishes of Isabel, there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations may be made in honour of Isabel to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Jan was indeed an elegant and kind lady. I have had an opportunity to know Jan over the last few years. She was a delicate and graceful in all manners. She spoke very proudly of her family, I will miss our engaging conversations. - Posted by: Lang Wong (Friend) on: Nov 19, 2017
