ASHLEY CHRISTINE WITTEVRONGEL
Born: Jul 02, 1981
Date of Passing: Nov 14, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryASHLEY CHRISTINE WITTEVRONGEL July 2, 1981 November 14, 2017 It comes with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our daughter, sister, and grandchild, Ashley Christine Wittevrongel, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the age of 36 years. Left to forever remember Ashley's memory are her grandmother Yvonne; mother Cheryl; father Grant; sisters Allana (Tom Vuong) and Kristin (Gideon Stock); brother Dylan; nephew Avery; niece Nora; many aunts, uncles, cousins and oodles of friends. She was predeceased by her grandmother Virginia and grandfathers Leon and Peat Moss. Ashley was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from Tec Voc. She had a zest for life and lived it on her own terms. She travelled to most places she dreamed of and was an independent soul that followed her own path. Ashley was a passionate lover of movies, ever quoting her favorites. She loved music including everything from metal to Johnny Cash. She was also a staunch fan of the NFL's New Orleans Saints. She was very creative which showed in her many hobbies: sketching, baking and sewing. Ashley was a person who put all others before herself. She was a zealous supporter of animal rights. Her pets brought her the greatest comfort and peace. A private family celebration will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to PETA at peta.org or to the Sea Shepherds at seashepherds.org. I was there the night after n had set up the candle tribute out front of that deadly destruction we both had called home. She was at times quite brutal but only ever had wisdom to share and only if u were ready to accept it and I'm sorry it took me so long my lovely friend but I'm here, I'm sober n ready to hear lol. I think of u every single time I walk over that bridge and in the north and always scream ur name with my sobriety I love u Ashley. I pledge to uIi'll never be high like that again as to have let them take u from us that day. I put those candles and the purple vase with the fake flowers as to show the strength u had shown me. They never die. Ever. I miss ur grumpy rambles through those shattered hallways. U will always be my favorite house mom/ night time street warrior. - Posted by: lacey (sober friend forever) on: Aug 19, 2018

I didn't know she passed and just emailed her. She was a good friend and was missed dearly even before finding out about this, because I moved far away. We met in our teens and went to lots of live shows together. The last time we spoke she was having terrible headaches, and I'm not sure if that had to do with this, but I now regret not keeping in better touch with her. - Posted by: Kyle (friend) on: Jan 08, 2018

Losing a child is one of the hardest things to go through as a parent. The weight that sits on your heart is heavy and hard to carry, but in time it will get lighter. Your memories of the sound of her laughter and her smile will be with you forever. I know Ashley will always be in your hearts. I hope time will heal your hearts swiftly. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Inga and Gary - Posted by: Inga Kostiuk (Gebhardt) (Friend) on: Nov 20, 2017
