MURIEL WILKINSON It is with heavy hearts, we announce the death of Muriel (nee Giles) Wilkinson on Friday, November 24, 2017, at the age of 96. Muriel or "Ma W" as she became known, will be missed and her memory will be cherished by her husband John (Jack); daughters, Wendy (Colin), Jennifer, Jan (Barrie) and her grandchildren, Kris (Sarah), Jill, Chelsea (Mike), Bryan (Laura), Andrew (Magda), Christian, Brendan and her great-grandchildren, Luna, Noah, Jaden and Alice. Muriel and Jack recently celebrated 71 years of marriage. Muriel was proud of being an English war bride, leaving Oxford, England and coming to Canada in 1946. She always missed her family and enjoyed many hours on the phone with her sisters. Muriel had many great summers with her family at West Hawk Lake and more recently, enjoying the flowers in her yard. Muriel took joy in connecting all the family and bringing people together. She loved entertaining, playing cards, music, and having a good time! She was an avid curler and served as President of the Fort Garry Curling Club for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with her Rumoli group and golfing at Lorette. Muriel was a feisty lady with a keen mind for current events, politics and finding a bargain! She was generous and found purpose in helping others. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
