THELMA JOYCE SENDROWSKI (nee ANDERSON) January 28, 1930 - November 29, 2017 Thelma passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017 at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. She is survived by her loving son, Robert (Melanie) and their children, Quinn, Barrett and Carys; her brothers, Walter Neil, Andrew Dale (Mary), Marvin (Donna), Daniel Jeffrey and Vance; her sisters, Dorothy Anderson-Howard, Lillian Johnstone (Victor) and Joan Klym Dueck (Elvin); and her many nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Sophie Anderson. Thelma was a kind, gentle and self-sacrificing woman. At an early age, being the eldest of nine children, she was tasked to help her mother with many chores in the home and on the farm. She was a nurturer of her younger siblings and spent many hours caring for them. She left home to work in Winnipeg as a telephone operator for MTS, followed by a time as a clerk at the Eaton's store. In later years, as a single parent, she worked at a variety of jobs in order to provide a good life for her son. Thelma remained very independent in her own apartment until her illness necessitated a hospital stay and subsequent move to the nursing home. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends, and her special friends at MacDonald's. "Follow us on our adventures, Granny (Puckets). We love you so much." (Quinny, Bearbear and Carys). Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of Thelma's caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital and The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Thelma's ashes will be interred in the graveyard at St. James Anglican Church Poplar Park in the spring of 2018 with immediate family in attendance.
