FAYE BYERS Phyllis Stephanie Byers (Faye), aged 72, of Winnipeg passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Faye is survived by her children: son Bill (Sarah), daughter Sharilyn; granddaughters Katelyn and Isabella, and grandson Jordan, all of Winnipeg; sister Eileen and brother Ron (Ann) of Vancouver, BC; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Doug) McLeay of Saskatoon, SK and Barbara Byers (Gerry Jones) of Regina, SK; brother-in-law Bill (Karen) of Alberta, and sister-in-law Renda Byers of British Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband Don, and parents, Steven and Sophie Perrick. Faye was born on April 2, 1945 in Canora, SK. She met Don during high school and they were married on May 18, 1968. They moved to Winnipeg that year and began their married life together. Mom worked a mix of part-time and full-time over her long career with TD Bank. Faye loved life and loved to spend time with family and friends. She loved helping out her grandchildren with their school drop-offs and pick-ups and taking them to McDonald's on the way home. She loved travelling to Phoenix to visit her cousin Gina (Hector), going to Bill's cabin in Lac du Bonnet and visiting with family and friends in Vancouver and Prince Albert/Saskatoon. She loved her weekly Wednesday morning coffee with Waltra and Loraine and spending time with her dear friend Linda who all brought her lots of happiness, laughter and joy. Mom also loved her weekly yoga classes and enjoyed her daily walks during the summer months. She also found a lot of satisfaction in volunteering her time with Grands 'n' More that supports the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Mom was and always will be an angel to all of us and will be truly missed. We want to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, and family and friends for their support. Those wishing to make donations in memory of Faye may direct them to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, care of Grands 'n' More Winnipeg, 66 Crestwood Cres., Winnipeg, MB R2J 1H6. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Faye and I grew up in the same neighbourhood in Saskatoon. Many treasured memories of those years. The outdoor sleepovers beside Faye's home and all the laughs, also a trip to Regina to Faye's aunts for a weekend. We sold bottles for gas money and had such a good time. I also was at that girls weekend in Saskatoon which we shared so many old memories. Those times will always be a reminder old dear old friends whom we still try to stay in touch with. Here's to you Faye🍷❤️. We will all be together again one day and heaven will not know what hit! Helen (Hulme) Clayton - Posted by: Helen ( Hulme) Clayton (Friend) on: May 31, 2018

  • I am sad and so very sorry to learn of Faye’s passing in December. A group of us grew up and hung out around Thornton Park in Saskatoon. Faye and I kept in contact through Christmas cards every year. Several years ago some of us had a little alumni weekend in Saskatoon where we shared two adjoining hotel rooms staying up most of the night laughing, sharing stories and photos and taking pictures. That was the last time I saw Faye but have many treasured memories with very special friends. My heart goes out to Faye’s Family. I am sorry that none of us knew of her passing until now.
