Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGOSTINO LOVATO May 23, 1919 - December 4, 2017 At age 98, Agostino peacefully passed away at Tuxedo Villa. Agostino is survived by three children, Rosetta, Aldo and John (Kimberley). Nonno leaves four grandchildren, Dale (Martina), Lorna, Adrianne and Chloe, and five great-grandchildren, Daphne, Julian, Lucien, Avery and Sierra. He also leaves behind nephews and nieces in Italy. We all mourn his loss. Dad was predeceased by his wife Lina, his brothers, Giovanni, Giuseppe, Antonio and Danilo, his sister Maria, and his parents Teresa and Pietro Giovanni. Agostino (Gus) was born in Trissino, in the Veneto region of Italy. He studied to be a weaver and worked for the textile company of Marzotto. In 1956, Agostino and Lina came to Canada and settled in Hamilton, where they made many Italian friends who became like family. Out of necessity Dad changed careers and became a Stationary Engineer. In 2011, five years after Lina's passing, Dad moved to Winnipeg to be near his children. Dad loved to sing and would usually break out in song at the dinner table. He enjoyed sharing food and wine with family and friends. Dad will be laid to rest alongside Lina in Hamilton. The family will hold a private function in Winnipeg and a Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in Hamilton. Many thanks to the staff of Tuxedo Villa who provided such quality care and comfort during his final days. We all mourn his loss.
