GENEVIEVE EVAN (née KANESKI) April 26, 1930 - December 4, 2017 Genevieve passed peacefully after a lengthy illness she bore with grace and calm. Artist, musician, dedicated gardener, fundraiser and shuffleboard ace, were a few of her talents. Mostly she dedicated her life to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. No task daunted her and she keenly volunteered for the community and church. In her later years, she returned to full-time study achieving a Diploma in Art with Honours at the University of Manitoba. She embraced life to the fullest and was never sullied by adversity. Genevieve will always be loved and missed by all who had the privilege of her friendship. Genevieve is survived by her husband John, five children, brother, and six grandchildren. A celebration of Genevieve's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main St., Winnipeg) on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Andrea! Your smile lights the room like your mother's! I am sorry we left before talking to you. A 32 year old confident woman became a bewildered and scared 12 year old child when she saw a picture of her and grandma pussycat. There are many fond memories of spending time with your family .I'm sorry we left before we touching base . I wish Gene had met her 2 great grandson's. They are so bright and precious . Samantha would have loved to have known where her artistic talent stems from.. unfortunately her art is private and used as an outlet. Perhaps one day.... we are very sorry for your loss of an amazing and talented woman. Sincerely . Theresa Hendry - Posted by: Theresa Hendry (Ex-in law ) on: Apr 27, 2018

  • My deepest sympathy to Andria and her brothers. I have fond memories of going to your house on Regent after school and seeing your mom always upbeat, pleasant and working hard around her home. You have the same smile as your mother Andria. May she rest in peace. Take care of yourself. - Posted by: Erica Andree-Norris (Schoolmate of Andria) on: Apr 25, 2018
