PATRICK STEPHEN KOWALCZUK
Date of Passing: Dec 05, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICK STEPHEN KOWALCZUK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Patrick (Pat) Stephen Kowalczuk, aged 56, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Pat was a beloved father, brother, son and friend to many. Pat was predeceased by his Dad, John, on February 27, 2005. Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his children, Christian, Chantelle, Rochelle and Justine; his mother Mary Kowalczuk; his four brothers, Richard (Chantal), Edward (Suzanne), Andrew (Rhonda), Mark (Joanna); his special friend Rhonda, many nieces and nephews, his professional colleagues, and many, many friends. Patrick was born and grew up in St. Vital attending Hastings School, Minnetonka school, and later graduated at Kildonan East, where he learned the construction trade. After school, Patrick, along with his brothers, Ed and Andy, worked alongside their Dad in concrete construction primarily in residential foundation construction in the south Winnipeg area. Patrick eventually started his own independent company although always had many shared jobs working alongside his Dad and two brothers in the business. Patrick continued to work the trade he loved and took special pride in the quality of the work that he rendered. He was a true craftsman and his concrete work is expressed in the many finished structures scattered throughout our community. Pat was a lover of antique cars and attended many car shows. He loved vintage household items and had a large collection to show off to others. He had a strong faith in the Lord and he also loved to travel. He travelled to Mexico several times and on one trip, helped to build a church in a poor area alongside a Mission team from Church of the Rock, a testament to his giving ways. Pat was a very social person and loved by all. Everybody had a million laughs around him and he always brightened up everyone's day. His greatest gift was with children. Kids were no match for him and they almost always ended up on their back with laughter from being in the presence of such a loving, spirited and jovial soul. Please join us in a celebration of Pat's life on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church at 778 Archibald Street. Fr. Armand Le Gal will be officiating. Reception will immediately follow with burial thereafter. There will also be a public viewing available the evening before on Thursday, December 14, at E. J. Coutu Funeral Directors at 680 Archibald Street between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Pat may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
