KURT WINTER 20 Years On December 14, 1997, we lost a tremendous guitar player, song writer and incredible human being. Today, 20 years later, we still hear your songs on the radio, loving every minute of them. You made it into the history books and have given us pure, honest happiness. We were so lucky to have had you. Thank you, thank you, thank you Kurt. Love, Vikki.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I met Kurt in 1978 at the city center hotel watching a Winnipeg band. We struck up a conversation, we had the Guess Who in common. I lived at 124 Landsdowne - the boys were at 99 or 97 ...anyway after the the bar closed, he invited me back to his place in Osborn Village for an after party. He was a awesome host, he showed me Guess Who stuff, the gold records were on the wall leading to an attached garage, where that famous red car from a cover album sat. Had a great night. • I never knew Kurt, but was lucky enough to see him play in 1972. He was a wonderful guitarist, and I've always been amazed that The Guess Who was able to replace a Hall of Fame guitarist, Bachmann, with another Hall of Fame guitarist from the same relatively small city. Kurt will never be forgotten. His talent was a shining light on a great band. - Posted by: Kim Carstens (Fan) on: Jan 21, 2018

  • As long as Kurt's music is played he will never be forgotten. His music will outlive all of us. A timeless talent and one of the good guys. He definitely left his mark. - Posted by: John Einarson (friend and admirer) on: Dec 14, 2017
