Born: Apr 05, 1945
Date of Passing: Dec 01, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS CHARLES JOSEPH SMITH April 5, 1945 - December 1, 2017 On Friday, December 1, 2017 our brother and uncle, Dennis, passed away at home at the age of 72 years. Dennis was predeceased by his mother and father, Marie and Charles "Buster" Smith and sister Helen Dube. He is survived by his twin brother Louis (Jeanette) Smith, brother Robert (Debbie) of St. Claude, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was born in Treherne, Manitoba on April 5, 1945 and grew up in St. Claude, Manitoba. Dennis moved to Winnipeg where he worked all his life in the meat packing industry, first for Swift Canadian then later for Maple Leaf Foods where he retired at the age of 60. He was our family historian and could always set the record straight when anyone needed to know the "who", "what", "where" and "why" of the "Smith/Lacroix" family. The drive down St. Mary's Road for many people will be missing that familiar face standing at the corner. "Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendor in the grass, of glory to the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind; In the primal sympathy Which having been must ever be..." - William Wordsworth A private family ceremony is planned for Summer, 2018.
