Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE ANN ELIZABETH DOBSLAW (nee BARON) Marjorie, born January 9, 1942, in Carberry Manitoba, was the first child of Paulus and Nora Baron. While attending Business College, Marjorie met her husband of almost 56 years, Jerry Dobslaw. They were fortunate to be blessed with three daughters, Catherine, Karen (Kurt) and Colleen. Additionally, Mom had four grandchildren, Derek, Kristin, Chelsea, and Halie. Sadly, Marjorie was predeceased by their youngest daughter, Colleen. As a mother of three girls, she always stressed to her daughters the importance of obtaining independence. She pushed and motivated them to take and demand more from life. Mom was strong-willed at times and always stated her thoughts and opinions. She was exactly the person she was meant to be. Growing up in a small town led to a life-long passion for curling. She loved playing, attending, and watching the games on TV. No one dared disturb her when curling was on. Marjorie also loved to drive, no matter what the vehicle. She loved driving her Cadillac and all of the vehicles that she had owned. Mom had talent for crafting, artistry, and beautiful penmanship. She took great pride in her skills for crafting and had the ability to make even the most ordinary objects beautiful. Mom loved Christmas and had an impeccably decorated tree, loved lights, and enjoyed shopping for gifts for her family. Mom had great wit and humour. Much to the chagrin of her grandchildren, she never missed a chance to banter or joke. There simply was no besting Grandma in the comedy department. She also radiated generosity and kindness. This compassion for others extended beyond the realm of humans to include animals. Mom loved animals, particularly dogs, and always had a furry friend as a companion. While she cared for them, her many pets brought her great joy and comfort. Our mom passed on December 14, 2017 with family at her side. At her request, there will be no funeral service. Mom, you will be greatly missed and will be forever loved by your family. MIZPAH.
