ANDREW ARTHUR (ART) KIMERY On Wednesday, December 20, 2017 Art Kimery, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 79 years. Art is survived by his wife Betty; daughter Janice Forest (Cam) of Brandon; son Andrew (Rita) and daughter Leslye (Paul) Fisher of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Dylan and Kyra Forest, Renelle and Nadia Kimery, Alexandria and Tyler Fisher; as well as his brother James (Cheryl) Kimery and nephew Scott (Penny) Kimery of Kipling, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents and his niece Monica Kimery. On January 25, 1938 Art was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan to Andrew and Barbara (Daku). He moved to Winnipeg in 1957 to further his education. On August 18, 1962 he married Betty Perreault in Winnipeg. Art was employed as an accountant for 50+ years, continuing to serve clients well after retirement. He was an avid sports fan and a diehard fan of the Saskatchewan Rough-riders. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy with Rev. Fr. Mark Tarrant presiding. A private Interment will follow. Dear Betty and family: I am so sorry for your loss. Will be remembering you in my thoughts and prayers. The third pew at St. Vital Parish will not be the same. I remember Art taking up the collection at Mass and giving the basket a little shake when he passed it in front of us; and then that little smile!! When I worked for the Town of Churchill, Andrew was the auditor for the Town (at the time it was a Local Government District) He was a great guy. I remember him coming up when it was still pretty y cold and not bringing a warm coat. We always had to find him a warm jacket. We always laughed about that and I laugh now when I think of it. It is a great memory. Art was a very personable, friendly and helpful fellow. So sorry for the family's loss. My sympathy to Betty and the family on your great loss. We were friends many years ago through church and Richmond Kings CC.
