JOSEPH EDOUARD EUGENE ROBIDOUX November 13, 1936 - December 24, 2017 On December 24, 2017 at the DeSalaberry District Health Care Center in St. Pierre, Joseph passed away peacefully and was surrounded by his loving family and his community by his side. Jos was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Thérèse (Ruest); his sister Alice (Roy) and brothers, Edouard and Lionel. A loved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, Joseph leaves to cherish in his memory his loving wife of 58 years Marcelle (Forest); four children along with their children: Lynne Robidoux Burndorfer (Linda), Camisha (Enrico) Théo, Ashanti; Lucette Barber (David), Jeremy (Jodi) Ryden, Julien, Jamie Lynne; Micheline Drewniak (John), Karina, Justin, Merissa; and Miriel Robidoux. He was also survived by his many siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He touched the lives of many through his generosity, involvement in the community and giving heart, which will greatly be missed by all. In his early years, he was very proud to have worked for the CN as a fireman and the City of Winnipeg Fire Department as firefighter for 16 years. He was the proud owner of Robidoux Lumber and Construction Limited in St. Pierre for 44 years, during this time he also spent over nine years working with his crew in remote regions in Arctic Canada building churches and residences for the Roman Catholic Church. His legacy lives on in the many homes that he built over the years. His commitment also extended to building his community as a 4th Degree Knight (past Grand Knight) with the Knights of Columbus, Recreational Center, St. Pierre Curling Club, Crime-Stoppers, Chamber of Commerce, Frog Follies and more. He loved his community and strived to give his customers the very best service, advice and mentoring that he provided over the years. He also enjoyed travelling and was a Southern Texas Snow Bird for more than 22 years. A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nasir, the nursing and hospital operations staff for their compassion and care during his stay. The funeral mass will be celebrated on December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pierre Church. Interment of his cremated remains will follow at 12:00 noon at the St. Pierre Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DeSalaberry District Health Center. "We will never forget you. We will always hold a piece of you in our hearts. You were a man of great faith in God. We are all proud and blessed to have had you in our lives." Wheeler Funeral Home Cemetery and Crematorium, 204-224-1525, Book of memories at www.wheelerfuneral.com

  • Lynne, it is sad news to hear today of your dear dad's passing. I hope he was not in pain while enduring his illness. He seemed to have had a full and loving life. I wish you strength in your mourning to not have your grief endure and take over your days and nights. There will always be your own personal special time and place that he will be in your thoughts and spiritually near you. Love to you Lynne and my condolences to you and your family.
