Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL WALASCHUK (nee SCHMIDT) Carol Walaschuk passed away peacefully in her home at age 69, on December 22, 2017. Carol was born June 26, 1949 in New Denver, BC, and was predeceased by her parents, Carl and June Schmidt, and her two siblings, Stanley Schmidt and Joy Smith. Carol is survived by her two daughters, Dana Robert (Cecil), Merry Lee Walaschuk (Daryl); grandchildren, Riley (Allison), Ben, Aaron, Ruth (Terrell), Joshua, Asher, Joshuah, Adrianna (Bryce), Johnny, Samantha (Richard) and Sean; and great- grandchildren, Sophia and Elizabeth. Carol enjoyed her work immensely as a volunteer coordinator with The City of Winnipeg and was employed for 25 years before her retirement in 2005. While raising her children she was a Sunday school teacher at St. Marks Anglican Church and she had made many fond memories with family and friends at church. A service will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church, 19 St. Marks Place, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane society. Carol was a very special lady ,always in a cherry happy mood. I am saddened to hear of Carol's sudden passing.We had a great time and conversation when we played cribbage Saturday nights.
