BLAIR M. HOLDEN November 19, 1938 - December 29, 2017 On Friday, December 29, 2017 Blair McCullough Holden left this earth to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Missing Blair are his loving family, wife Linda of 47 years of marriage; son Mark; daughter Stacey (Josh Bileski); grandchildren Mark Jr., Dakota and Lane Holden, Kiefer Bileski; sisters Lorraine Werntz, Gloria (Garth Teel) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Blair was born and educated in the Swan River Valley region. He spent his early work life up north at Midwest Diamond-Drill and at Inco in Thompson. He later moved to Winnipeg where he met and fell in love with Linda. They were married June 19, 1971. Blair's early married life was spent in Winnipeg where he was employed in the airline service industry. He fulfilled a lifelong dream to own and operate a farm, when they moved to the Cloverdale area in 1976. In 1982 Blair devoted his life full-time to farming at his property on Cloverdale Road, as well as property at Argyle, MB. He was blessed with being very mechanically inclined and thrived with the challenge of getting motor vehicles and farm machinery running again. In 1975 they were blessed by the arrival of son Mark, daughter Stacey joining the family in 1978. Blair thought he had won the lottery in being able to be a father to his two wonderful children and raise them to adulthood. The joy and happiness they brought to his life was unmeasurable. He felt the same pride for his four grandsons and derived immense joy from his time with them. Besides spending time at the farm and their cottage at Sandy Hook, Blair and his family enjoyed taking many motor trips. In their retirement Blair and Linda greatly enjoyed their travels to many wonderful places in the USA. Blair was a loving and caring family man who always put his family first. He loved spending time with them and there are many fond memories from life on the farm and also at the family cottage. These memories and his patient and gentle soul will be treasured and greatly missed by us all. Blair's faith in God saw him through the challenges he faced in life. His faith, recognition and acceptance of his need for salvation, give those of us who remain a knowledge that we will meet again in Heaven by God's grace. In his last years, he experienced declining health and received assistance with his care from many compassionate individuals. The family would like to thank his Home Care workers and Gloria and Garth (Teel) for the care and support they provided. As per Blair's request, no funeral will be held. A private family interment will take place in the spring. Some of his ashes will be scattered in places of great meaning to him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of one's choosing. My dearest and most precious Blair, you were the love of my life, my best friend, my soulmate and my everything!
