Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESA ANNE HAPPYCHUK On December 26, 2017 Theresa Anne Happychuk, aged 61, passed away in her home in Grande Prairie, Alberta after battling cancer for several years. Theresa's memory will be forever cherished by her husband Wally; daughters Laurie Mateychuk (Brad), Tammy Chubaty, and their father Larry Chubaty; stepdaughter Crystal Funk (Raymond); grandson Eric Mateychuk; stepgrandchildren Gavin and Danilynn Funk; her siblings Gloria (Jerry), Donald (Linda), Stephanie, Debra (Paul) and Robert (Monica); and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Hirschfield. She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Elsie Budey. Theresa was born in St. Pierre, Manitoba on March 4, 1956. She grew up in Rosa, Manitoba on the family farm and later moved to Winnipeg where she began her career as an accomplished receptionist. In later years, Stuartburn, Manitoba became home, where she raised her family. She worked at the St. Pierre Hospital and later as an extension co-ordinator for Manitoba Agriculture and Food. In April 2006, she and Wally moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta where she was employed as HR Co-ordinator at Ainsworth Lumber and later at MNP. Theresa became involved in various community charity events until illness prevented her from working. Theresa had an entrepreneurial spirit and was always looking for her next great home-based business. She spent many successful years as a consultant for Pampered Chef and Norwex. Her hobbies included travelling with Wally, looking for treasures at estate and garage sales, entertaining guests and shopping for loved ones. She loved sports and physical activities including biking, running multiple marathons and triathlons, cross country skiing, bowling, arm wrestling, exercising and swimming. A major accomplishment she was proud of was completing the entire 1500 km Habitat for Humanity Bike Tour from Fernie, BC to Winnipeg, MB. "Incredibly kind soul; inspiration to many; admired for her positive outlook and enthusiasm for life; happy; bubbly, sweet and thoughtful personality; optimistic attitude; passionate; fun-loving and amazing; great smile that warmed a room"; these are just a few of the lasting impressions she left on everyone she met. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Clinic in Edmonton and especially Dr. Barreth, Dr. Obiajulu and the wonderful home care nurses in Alberta for their phenomenal care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any cancer society of your choice. Vichnaya Pamyat
