WILLIAM ROBERT MACGREGOR Loving husband of Donna Boutang, passed away early Tuesday morning at the age of 68. Bill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 13, 1949. Bill was raised in St. James and attended St. James Collegiate. Bill followed work to Norway House, MB, where he met Sherrill, the mother to his children. Their family settled in Waverley Heights where they forged many friendships within the hockey community. These friendships were solidified over the years of coaching his boys' hockey teams and playing old-timers hockey with the Sherbrook Warriors. Bill became the catalyst of many golf getaways in the spring and fall to Falcon Lake, Clear Lake or Hecla with these life long friends. Bill started his working career with the Federal government where he completed his professional accounting designation. Bill went on to one of his proudest accomplishments, West Kildonan Auto Service, a business which he built from the ground up and ran successfully for 35 years. Bill and Donna met and fell in love and spent the last 25 years inseparably. Bill embraced all of the people that loved Donna as if they were his family. In typical Bill fashion, everyone that met him, loved him right back. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Donna Boutang, his boys Billy (Janine) and Bobby (Annie), stepchildren Randeen (Allan) and Raimey (Kim), sisters Bonnie (Harry) and Gaye (Donald), brother Thomas (Laura), in-laws Duane (Wanda) and Marcel, grandchildren Ayden, Hanna, Nora, Lily, Isabel, Mike and James, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by mother Elsie and father Thomas, Donna's sisters Shelley and Lorry. Bill was full of life, love and adventure and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He loved to golf and travel, where much of his holiday time was spent on the road in their motorhome. Bill will be missed by so many! Celebration of Life Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sunova Centre, 48 Holland Road, West St. Paul, MB. Donations can be made to the Never Alone Foundation.

  • Dear Donna and Family, Our hearts are hurting for you all, we are so sorry for your loss of Dear Mr.Bill. We will cherish the memories of spending a Christmas together in Phoenix eating barbecue steaks and enjoying great company. Remember how we laughed when Dale's sister and her husband and family came by the house, walked in and said "Hi Bill"! A random meeting in Phoenix with their old mechanic from Winnipeg, small world. Dinner that night consisted of spaghetti and as Bill requested, not that whole grain shit! We loved his smile and good nature. RIP Bill.
