BERNICE MELLER It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bernice Auerbach Meller, on January 1, 2018. She was the cherished beloved of the late Arie Meller; the devoted mother of Elaine (Rubin), Jack (Judith), Harvey (Jennifer); the devoted Nana of Lindsay (Barnett), Jesse (Sarah), Caleb (Hilary) and Drew (Jesse); and the great-grandmother of Arthur Leo Todres Zitron. Bernice was a Holocaust survivor, who believed in the pursuit of excellence, the strength of community, and the importance of esthetics and ideas. Her enormous energy was focused on family, the Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble, her charity work and support for the state of Israel. The funeral took place on January 3, 2018 at the Chesed Shel Emes. Donations may be made to the Arie and Bernice Meller Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.

Elaine I had the privilege of volunteering with your Mom for CJA women's campaign. She was a very wise woman and contributed so much to the success of the campaign. We all loved working with her.
