VICKI LYNNE TURNBULL On December 5, 2017, after a lengthy battle with dementia, Vicki joined her parents, John and Kay Skinner. Vicki is survived by her husband Gordon (Gord), son Paul Ivory and grandson Bryson (Houston, Texas), daughter Erin Ivory, brother William (Bill) Skinner (Barb), Calgary, Alberta, many nieces and nephews, and her Basset Hound Fang - Dog. Vicki was a very intelligent, beautiful, social person and was well suited to work in the travel sector with Marlin and Amex Travel. The best word to describe Vicki would be vibrant. Vicki had a big heart, particularly when it came to our four and two legged friends. Budgies, lovebirds, poodles, and lastly a cat and a Basset Hound were part of Vicki's home. Paul and Erin would often refer to our home as "Animal House". The family would like to thank all of the friends who visited Vicki in the hospital and the personal care home, and in particular her friend from grade eight Dianne, who made the journey palatable. Many thanks to the Poseidon Personal Care Home, where Vicki finally received compassionate, dignified, respectful care after a five month stay in hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Vicki's name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to The Winnipeg Humane Society. A celebration of Vicki's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Gord.....Bill and I were very sorry to hear of Vicki's passing. Our sincere condolences to you and your family. We have many fond memories of our time together and the Marlin trips to Hawaii and Ireland. Vicki was great to work with and I enjoyed her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. • Vicki was indeed a very vibrant and caring person - always concerned about her family, friends, pets and clients. She was always interested each family member, how you were coping and what plans you had. She had a fabulous sense of humor and quick wit. Her comments and compassion made working with her very easy and loving being around her even easier. Although her memory these past years may have been a little clouded - our memories of her will always be filled with light, laughter and love. I will be thinking of you all on Saturday and remember a charming and vivacious lady. With sympathy, Bev Potter - Posted by: Bev Potter (friend/co-worker) on: Jan 09, 2018
