Born: Jun 01, 1946
Date of Passing: Dec 14, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND JOSEPH DORGE June 1, 1946 - December 14, 2017 With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Dorge who succumbed to an aggressive brain cancer at the age of 71. He will be missed by his siblings, Lynne (Barry) Dundas, Gloria (Blake) Cromie, Brian (Arlene) Dorge, Gisele (Mike) Bennett, his nieces and nephews Ian, Cindy, Hailey, Troy, Scott, Shaun, and Shaylene, as well as his friends on Salt Spring Island, BC. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Anne and Elie Dorge of Ste. Agathe, Manitoba. Our brother Ray immersed himself in books, artwork, music and film. Other favourite pastimes were writing, gardening, raising exotic birds, performing Thai Chi, and watching baseball with friends. Ray had a playful sense of humour and would chuckle mischievously when he caught you off guard. His bright spirit will live in our hearts forever. Special thanks to Dr. Reznick, the nurses at Lady Minto, and his dearest friends who provided him with loving comfort and care. At Ray's request, his body will be cremated and his ashes scattered at his favourite meditation spot. The family is grateful for condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Sincere condolences to all Uncle Élie's and Auntie Anne's family members. So very sad to hear of Ray's passing. I always thought of him on his birthday as it was the same day as Dad's (Marcel). Sending hugs and love and prayers! Suzanne - Posted by: Suzanne (Dorge) Ritchot (Cousin) on: Feb 01, 2018

It is with deepest sadness that I heard of Ray's passing today. I can hardly believe he is gone from this world. He was a warm and gentle soul with whom I spent much of my life. Although we parted company he was often in my thoughts and I have wonderful memories of our life and adventures together. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Lynne, Gloria, Giselle, Brian and their families. - Posted by: Gail Sibley (Former life partner) on: Jan 29, 2018
