DANIEL LLOYD FORBISTER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend, Dan, at the age of 56. Dan passed away on January 1, 2018, with his family at his side. Dan leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Priscilla, children, Jamie (Jeff), Lukas, and Nikolas, grandsons, Sam, Max and Memphis, mother-in-law, Judy Powder, father-in-law, Ken Anderson (Colleen), and Wayne Wood (Joyce), siblings, Connie, Les, Merv (Nancy), Debbie (Rick), Grace (Randy), Art (Sue) and Jim (Tami), many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Tache and Margaret Forbister. Dan was born in Gimli, Manitoba on July 28, 1961. He spent his early years in Riverton and then Norway House. In his teens Dan decided he wanted to live in the city so he moved to Saskatoon to live with his sister, Deb. He attended high school there where he made lifelong friendships. In 1979 Dan headed to Fort McMurray in search of work. He was hired by Syncrude Canada and January 8 would have been his 38th year. He was a mine rescue captain for years winning many competitions including the Provincial and Western Regional championships. It was 32 years ago in Fort McMurray that Dan met his beautiful Pris, his 'Honey', he was just a young man and he always claimed she changed his life for the better. They did everything together but it is her devotion during this arduous journey that displayed their unending love and devotion. Dan's dedication to his family was made evident in his love for his three children. Their unique personalities were unending sources of pride. Then came his three grandsons who gave their papa immeasurable joy. Dan had many interests - movies, music, reading, sports, working out, running, dancing, and travelling with his family. The family trips were an important bonding time and rejuvenated him during the breaks from his commitments and obligations at work. Funeral service will take place at Family Christian Centre, 160 Dickens Dr. in Fort McMurray on January 6, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Viewing one hour prior to service. Private interment at a later date. Reception to follow at Fort McMurray Legion at 2:00 p.m. at 9317 Huggard St. Pallbearers are Lukas Forbister, Nikolas Forbister, Art Forbister, Jim Forbister, Daniel Forbister, Jeff Olson, Ken Anderson and Tony Muswagon.
