Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMERYLE MARGARET RICH (PETERSON) It is with profound sadness that we announce that Meryle Margaret Rich (Peterson) passed away peacefully in Nanaimo with her daughter by her side on December 21, 2017. Meryle was known as Mom to her daughter Ronda (Rich), Bud to her son-in-law Gordo Bell, and Nanie to her granddaughter Megan. She was also known as Auntie Meryle to Linda, Russ and Sandy and their children, Mark, Josh, Alex, Reese and Irini, as well as Debra Gehring and Brian Karaskewich. She was also known as Merylie to many friends on Vancouver Island, the Mainland and in Winnipeg. Meryle was born and raised in Winnipeg but moved to Richmond, BC in 1996 to be closer to her family in Nanoose Bay, BC. Meryle loved jazz music, was a voracious reader, knitter, loved to travel, spending time with and laughing with her friends. Meryle will be greatly missed by her family and friends who always called upon her for her wise words and unconditional love. A special thank you to her friend Edith Toews who always kept an eye on her for us and included her in all her family events. Mom, you truly are unforgettable in every way. A Celebration of Life will be held for her friends in Richmond on January 27 at the Core from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and in Winnipeg on February 8, 2:00 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, 3219 Pandora Ave. West. Many of us are blessed to grow up with our friends' moms in our lives to one extent or another; Ronda's mom, known to me respectfully as "Mrs. Rich", was one of those moms who made you feel as if you were one of her's ... always so engaged, supportive, interesting and interested in you .... and very very funny and funloving! Ronda and her mom were an indominatable team - will always be an indominatable team. Sending Ronda, Gord, Megan and all who loved Meryle our deepest condolences and love.
