Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIL LAWRENCE EUGENE GEORGETTE January 18, 1945 - January 6, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother and uncle, Emil, at the Health Sciences Centre, with his foster brother Bill at his side. Emil lost his courageous battle after suffering a heart attack and stroke on October 10, 2017. Emil is survived by his brothers, Dell Geddie and Albert Geddie, his sister Dianne Galbraith (Ron), foster brothers, Reg Russell (Pat) and Bill Russell (Val), and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn the family/owners of Tasty's Chinese Restaurant, good friends and neighbours. Emil was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Anna Georget (née Baczewicz), brother Wally Georget, and foster parents, Fred and Nell Russell. Emil was employed with C.P. Rail for 30 years starting as a labourer and retiring in 2006 as a machinist helper. He also spent a few years working on the "gang". Emil will be remembered as being an exceptionally hard worker. Those closest to him will remember his kindness. Thanks to the nurses at Health Sciences Centre, especially Sheila in ICU. We appreciated your above and beyond attentive care. A service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Wheeler Funeral Home in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Burial to be arranged at a later date.
