EDDIE FOUBERT Eddie passed away suddenly January 7, 2018, at his home. He is survived by his wife Florence of 60 years and his children Richard, Viviane (Steve), Louise (Dwight), Sara (Victor) and grandchildren, Rosanne, Shawn, Chelsey, Remi, Didier, Leanne, Aubrie, Alexandre and Miguel. Eddie was predeceased by his son Daniel in 1992 and his brother Willie in 2012. Eddie was born in Zottegem, Belgium in 1925. He immigrated to Canada in 1948 eventually settling with family in Winnipeg. Eddie worked as a butcher for over 30 years. As a young man Eddie loved dancing, big bands and jazz. When the music started to play Eddie could dance all night long. He was inquisitive and never without a book. Biographies and historical dramas were his favorite reads. A man of many talents, Eddie could fix anything and was incredibly resourceful with his projects. Papa was quick to roll up his sleeves and help family especially his children with any number of projects. He shared his many talents with us and taught us important life lessons. Eddie and Florence traveled widely after retirement, Europe, Australia, Israel, Hawaii and the US. He returned to his beloved homeland of Belgium numerous times fondly remembering his past. Pa was a quiet, humble man with a gentle soul who will be deeply missed by his family. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13 at Sts. Martyrs Canadiens, 289 Dussault Ave. A private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
