Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGRID IRENE MAGNUSON (nee HOLZE) June 10, 1932 - January 8, 2018 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ingrid on Monday morning, January 8, 2018 at Evergreen Baptist Campus of Care in White Rock, BC. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard; four daughters, Heidi Magnuson-Ford (David), Leah Lempesis (Bill), Ruth Magnuson (Chris Pearce) and Sonja Magnuson (Chris Dolman); 10 grandchildren, Julia (Phil), Karen (Patrick), Erika (Brandon), Alan (Brooke), Kyle (Vanessa), Brianna (Delroy), Kevin, Desiree, Jonah and Clara, as well as one great-grandson, Mason. Also surviving Ingrid is her sister, Eva Goplen (David). She is also lovingly remembered by three nieces, Cindy, Susie and Karla. Ingrid was a true life partner for Richard. She was a confidant, encourager, shoulder to cry on and listener for her daughters. For her grandchildren she was the custodian of the Treasure Box; maker of pancake feasts; co-maker of many Christmas gingerbread houses and sender of special packages and little boxes. For friends and neighbours she was a strong, hospitable, compassionate and kind presence; a delightful and intelligent conversationalist. Ingrid's passion was to be in her art studio creating beautiful works for others to enjoy. Her gifts included her art, expressed in calligraphy, watercolour painting, and stained glass design; dozens of loaves of homemade bread and many pairs of knitted mittens. She also gave through her career as a registered nurse and Continuing Education art teacher. Ingrid had a deep and strong faith in a loving, compassionate and generous God in whom she has now found her final and peaceful rest. Her life motto - Thanks be to God! Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or to a charity of one's choice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 148th St., Surrey, BC. A Celebration of Life will be held in Winnipeg, MB at a date to be determined.

It is with deepest sympathy that I learned of the passing of Ingrid and Richard today many years after their passing. They were great people and wonderful parents to the girls. I remember fondly the many times we got together and had cards, and meals shared together with my parents, Dr and Mrs Robert Geer in Grand Island Nebraska. Robb and I send our deepest sympathy to Heidi, Leigh, Ruth and Sonya. Your friend always, Bob Hersh-Geer (Nee Geer) - Posted by: Robert Hersh-Geer (friend) on: Feb 01, 2025

Thinking of Ruth, Heidi and all you family members. As I read through the memorial and through comments to Ruth it sounds like a legacy of love and compassion was spread by your mother, how wonderful. Peace be with you all. Our deepest condolences to Richard and daughters Ruth, Heidi, Sonya and Leah. Ingrid was a vibrant and wonderful person. Ingrid was ahead of her time in many ways. We enjoyed many great conversations with her. Glad we have one of her paintings in our home to remind us of Ingrid - Posted by: Cathy & Clarence Morris (Friend) on: Jan 13, 2018
