Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL LOUIS JOSEPH CARON July 22, 1959 - January 5, 2018 Paul Louis Caron, of Winnipeg, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2018, due to complications from recent surgery. Paul was born July 22, 1959, in Winnipeg to his parents, Edith and Gilles Caron. Paul had a very distinguished career at Taillieu Construction Limited for 43 plus years and had made many friends in the industry. Still to the day of his passing they kept in touch just to check up on him even though he was off work due to his injury for the past year. Paul was married February 27, 1988 to the love of his life, best friend and confidante, Patty Shirley Caron (nee Aitken), of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Paul is survived by his wife Patty; children, Jennifer (Jay) Caron-Taylor, Amanda, Brett; and two grandchildren, Jaxon and Ava. He was predeceased by daughter Stephanie, at 14 months old, his father-in-law Frank Aitken, sister-in-law Teri Aitken and brother-in-law Randy Aitken. He leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Wendy (Dave) Maes; nephew Jared Maes and partner Paige, their children, Dylan and Tristan, and niece Ashley (Scott) Nugent. Paul's mother and father, Edith and Gilles Caron, brother Don Caron, Cathie (Bob) Seneshen, Ken (Lorna) Caron, Greg (Kerri) Caron and Chris Zimmerman, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, as well as many other loving family members and friends. Paul was very fortunate to have travelled with his wife Patty many times to warm destinations before they had children. They travelled to Disneyworld with all three of their children and travelled throughout Florida with the Hashimoto family, with many fond memories. The children had fun but always missed home life and were happy just going to the cabin with grandma and grandpa, and their aunties family. Paul had a second home he called it "Heaven on Earth". Reluctantly we called it "Heaven's Gate". Paul and his family have memories to last a lifetime at the cottage at "West Hawk Lake". It was always full of fun, happy times, laughter and sharing those times with family and friends, especially our neighbours, the MacAngus family. For Paul, life for him was all about family, they came first with him. Paul always said to his children, "Whatever happens, if you need me, just call, I have your back and I always will no matter what." Daddy, Grandpa and Paul "We Love You to the Moon and Back", "Always and Forever", "Sweet Dreams My Love". We will see you in heaven, we won't say good bye, we will say see you when we get there. We will always hold a piece of you in our hearts. Daddy now we have your back. A special thank you to our friends and family for all your support and to our friends on Ghent Cove for sending dinners and shoveling snow for us, it is very much appreciated by Patty and family. We are very blessed to have all of you around us during this difficult time. A celebration of Paul's life will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 637 Buckingham Road and Eldridge, on Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon. A private family interment will be held at Chapel Lawn. A special thank you to all who cared for Paul during his health struggles this past year and to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services and Ambulance Services that helped during their visits to our home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church "Building Fund" 637 Buckingham Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3R 1B9, in memory of Paul Caron. We were lucky to befriend Paul when our boys played hockey together. He was the most generous with words smiles and funds... making sure our boys got team jackets that year we went without a loss. Wherever Paul was, there was fun. His children made his face light up. We will never forget what made everyone adore you. We send our deepest sympathies to your entire family and close friends. My thoughts go out to all my friends in the Caron family. Wow. Paul, you left us too early. I'll forgive you borrowing my goalie equipment, and loosing it. Still have numerous memories of growing up, hanging out at the Caron house, and possibly, even misbehaving occasionally. Rest in peace Paul. Paul Caron was not only a childhood friend – he was my best friend. LaFlèches and Carons have lived side by side on the shores of the Assiniboine River since the 1880’s. Paul and I were cousins, neighbours, classmates and teammates. One of my earliest memories is going to the Carons to work on my “Rainy Day Workbook” that my mom and Edith had bought for their 5-year old boys. We spent many hours riding our bicycles before graduating to mini-bikes and snowmobiles. We spent many hours in the woods where we built forts, carved out trails and designed booby traps for unsuspecting evil-doers. We built a less that sea-worthy raft for the inaugural Headingly Raft Race. He had us worried when he swallowed his quarter in grade 5 as we were waiting in line to get into the pool at our school. We played baseball and hockey. Our plan to spend the night in the woods with no tent was cut short when the leaves he used after relieving himself turned out to be poison oak! We took large bolts and grinded rings in his uncle Louis’ shop for “Avon and Sue” in grade 7. We shared the same classroom at St-Charles Academy from 1965 to 1973 before going our separate ways in high school. Paul and I grew apart after that, but I will always have very fond memories of a story-book childhood with a great best friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. - Posted by: Charlie LaFleche (Friend) on: Jan 16, 2018

A friendship that began with a wave, then a chat from back door to back door and eventually long visits on the patio and dock. First words as we pulled up were always "wonder if Paul's here?". We'll miss the dimpled smile, laugh at Glen's next project and the quick run to get whatever tool was needed to complete that project. We'll miss his head peaking over the BBQ as he helped prepare dinner and the early morning fishing trips to Hunt Lake, helping fill the freezer. Paul, we'll simply just miss YOU. We will continue to embrace the action next door and so blessed we've been welcomed in as family. Patty, kids, Grandma and family, you know we're here and will travel this road with you. - Posted by: Monika, Glen, Sydney & Cameron MacAngus (Friends & Neighbours ) on: Jan 16, 2018
