LENNART LARSON February 16, 1930 - January 10, 2018 ISABELLA LARSON September 15, 1937 - January 15, 2018 With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of both our father Lennart, and our mother Isabella. Dad passed suddenly on January 10, 2018 at age 87, and on January 15, 2018 at the age of 80, our mother joined him. They are survived by son Cy, daughters, Lorraine, Adele, Beverly, and Fay, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Dad also leaves his brother Richard and Mom leaves sisters, Margaret, Olga and brother Ed. Dad was born and raised in Brookfield. He had an extensive career as construction superintendent and spent the last 10 years of his career with Vector Construction. He will be remembered as a quiet, friendly guy with a great intelligence, and his distinctive Larson smirk. Hunting and the outdoors were his passion, a crack shot with both a rifle and shotgun, he was knocking down birds and deer into his 80's. Mom was born and raised in Landerville. She lived in Winnipeg and worked at Christies with her sister Olga, until her and Dad married April 23, 1955 and moved back to Lac du Bonnet where her family was her life. She raised their five children, and continued to dedicate her life to her family, helping raise her grandkids. Her talent and enjoyment of sewing and knitting were a big part of keeping the family clothed in our younger years. They shared a love of fishing, and would spend hours out on the water in the summer, and winter days in the ice fishing shack. In their later years, you could find Mom and Dad at the Legion playing crib and throwing darts, or at the Pioneer Club floor curling. Many of our special memories revolve around all the holiday celebrations we used as excuses to celebrate at their home. They loved nothing more then having the family at their house toasting with Dad's homemade wine and feasting with all the familiar ethnic dishes that they would prepare. A memorial service will be held at the Lac du Bonnet Legion on January 20 at 1:00 p.m. Donations to Lac Du Bonnet Legion or Pioneer Club or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I'm so sorry for your sadness at the loss of your mom & dad, Lorraine & Adele. I'll remember them as such a jovial couple who always greeted me with big smiles. They were fun to play darts with at the Legion. I used to visit them when I lived on Riverland Rd. & they were such gracious hosts. They had a long & wonderful life. Please pass on my condolences to your brother & sisters & may your memories of them bring you peace. God bless you. - Posted by: Wendy Zeemel (Friend ) on: Jan 18, 2018

  • So very sad to hear of the loss of both of Cy’s parent. What a sad time for the family. Living in Ontario I had very limited exposure to them but parents are irreplaceable. The sadness you feel will diminish over time as the good memories come to the forefront. Cherish the happy times so they are never forgotten. • Condolences and prayers for the family. So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort that they are together. Big hugs to all. Such a wonderful couple, who chose to live life together and to slip away to eternity one after the other. They loved their family with a deep and everlasting love. Their memories will still be living in you. They were so proud of each of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They have left this world and left a legacy behind. - Posted by: Lisa Halter (Larson) (Cousin ) on: Jan 17, 2018

  • So sorry for the loss of your parents. We will miss them. - Posted by: Dawn & John Daviduik (need Donner) (Cousin to Lennart.) on: Jan 17, 2018

  • Our sincerest condolences to the family. Had many great conversations over the last twenty years with your mom and dad. We loved seeing him out in front of our old place on Francis Dr - him and his buddies at their hot spot for fishing! - Posted by: Nicole and David Forsyth (friends) on: Jan 17, 2018

  • My sympathy to your family at this tremendous loss. I remember Lennart and Isabella exactly as you have described them. Your dads quiet ways, wonderful smile and twinkling eyes and your moms talent for sewing, knitting and cooking. Many things have changed since my childhood growing up in Riverland with the Larson family as our neighbours but I will always carry fond memories of the times we shared. - Posted by: Linda Vallance (nee McDougall) (Friend of the family) on: Jan 17, 2018
