Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA STEFIUK It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Stefiuk (nee Kiceluk) on Saturday, January 13, 2018, after a fierce fight with breast cancer. She was 72. Barb was predeceased by her parents, Nettie and Michael, and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Ted, her daughters, Lisa and Lori, her four sisters, Carol (Jim), Mary Jane, Michele (Hans) and Sue (Jay), one sister-in-law Sylvia (Brian), two aunts, Elsie and Val, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Barb was born in Winnipeg on April 10, 1945, the second of five daughters. She spent the first part of her life in Manitoba, mainly in Winnipeg, where she grew up, met Ted and had her daughters. After a handful of years in Pine Falls and Gladstone, Manitoba, the family moved to Edmonton, a place she has called home for the last 34 years. While Barb did a variety of work over the years, it was her hobbies and passions that she liked best. She was involved in many organizations such as Kinettes, Girl Guides, Red Hat Society, the Legion, Healing Connections and Order of the Eastern Star. When she wasn't working, volunteering or socializing, you could find her in the kitchen, in the garden, watching sports, or talking on the phone to a friend or family member. Barb will be remembered for her warm-heartedness, helpfulness, excellent cooking skills, and for being a gracious hostess who welcomed everyone that visited her. She always kept in touch with all of her family and friends, whether it was aunts, cousins, or even friends from decades ago. If you knew Barb, you know that you are going to miss her. A service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton with burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Misericordia Hospital Foundation, attention Healing Connections - where Barb volunteered for the last 10 years. Westlawn Funeral Home 780-484-5500
