JEAN POTTER September 19, 1918 January 16, 2018 At the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grand-mother, passed away at the age of 99 years. To treasure her memories are her daughters, Mildred (Harold), Merle, Ruth, Ruby (Ernest), 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grand-children, along with nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers, sister and husband Leslie (Bill) in 2002, after 63 years and three months of marriage. Born September 19, 1918, in Browning, SK, she moved to Grahamdale, MB by ox cart at the age of three. She was married to Leslie Potter on September 14, 1939. She was baptized in 1952, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and shared what she learned from the Bible to family and community. She looked forward to the fulfilment of Rev. 21:1-4 - a paradise on earth, a comfort to all. Mom was hardworking - gardening, cooking, canning (100 qt. of wild strawberries, one year), picking berries, knitting and sewing most of the clothes for her four girls on a treadle sewing machine. Mom continued to work in her garden when over 95 years of age. From the age of 60, she climbed a tree every year until her 93rd year, just to prove she could do it. Thank you to all her medical and care workers. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later on in the Spring.
