FRANCES (FRANKIE) MCDOUGALL (BONAZEW)
Born: Sep 09, 1926
Date of Passing: Jan 13, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES (FRANKIE) MCDOUGALL (nee BONAZEW) With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Frances McDougall, on January 13, 2018, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Bill. Our mom Frankie will be deeply missed by daughters Bonnie (Chris), Heather (Stu) and Mary-Anne (Dave); grandchildren Brent (Shawna), Caitlin and Nyssa; also special sister-in-law Doris, nephews John and Ken (Barb). Frankie was born on the family farm in Togo, Saskatchewan on September 9, 1926, the middle of seven children, and was predeceased by her parents and brothers and sisters. In her late teens she moved to Yorkton SK, then on to Winnipeg where she met Bill. They were married in Regina in 1951 and returned to Winnipeg where they raised their three daughters. Frankie was a very loving and caring individual who always wanted to help others. Her kitchen on Egerton Road was always open for friends and family to come over for a visit and coffee. Frankie was an avid volunteer in her community, specifically the Glenwood Community Club. One of her favourite pastimes was continuing her Ukrainian heritage by cooking perogies, cabbage rolls, and borscht. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family, including Friday night Rummoli get-togethers. Playing bingo was another one of her favourite things to do and she enjoyed playing for most of her life. Mom enjoyed travel and made trips to Yukon, Alberta, and Ontario to visit family. She also travelled to Florida and Hawaii with her daughters. Frankie's greatest joy in life was spending time with her three daughters and their families. In the latter part of her life she enjoyed the outdoor walks with Heather, the visits with Mary-Anne on Mondays, which in the warm months included sitting by the fish pond, and having lunches with Bonnie. She spent the last four years at Riverview Health Centre on CD4. This became her home where the staff were like family. We would like to thank all the staff on CD4 and make special mention of Mariama who was our mom's "Earth Angel", as well as Marie whose guidance, care, and kindness was greatly appreciated. In compliance with Frankie's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family gathering and interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frankie's memory to a charity of your choice. "Love you more".

Mary-Anne, Heather & Bonnie, so sorry to hear of your mom. I have so many great memories of my time at your house on Egerton Rd...sleep-overs, watching Hockey Night in Canada and having dinner with your family. I'm so glad I had a chance to take my mom to see your mom while she was at Riverview last year. Thinking of you all. - Posted by: Colleen Deckert (Frame) (Former neighbour) on: Jan 22, 2018

Condolences Bonnie, Heather and Mary-Anne. Your Mom was an amazing lady. She was kind and funny and saw right through any of the neighbourhood kids shenanigans. She made Egerton Road a great place to grow up. - Posted by: Karen Epp (Tokarchuk) (Former neighbour) on: Jan 20, 2018
